Hey guys, welcome to another episode of Coffee with Chris. Today we are going to talk about opportunity overwhelm when launching a business. How to handle being overwhelmed with the amount of things that you can do when it comes to launching a business.

Now, if you've ever launched a business, if you've ever thought about launching a business, had friends who launched it and talked to you about it, you know, that launching a business can be very overwhelming. There are so many options as to what you can do. There are so many options as to how you can market yourself, what you can sell, what the best approach is to sell. There are almost an endless amount of opportunities as to what you can do when it comes to marketing yourself online. So what do you do about that? How do you handle all of these options as to what you can do to be able to create a very clear path forward, to know what you're gonna do to market yourself. So let's take a look at the four things you can do to really handle and take control of that opportunity overwhelm.

So let's first take a look at handling overwhelm when it comes to what to sell.

You're thinking about starting an online business. Maybe you have an idea of what you're going to sell. Maybe you have an idea of the niche you wanna sell, but not necessarily the product you wanna sell yet, or maybe you have an idea of what you wanna help people with, but you don't quite know exactly how you're going to do it.

Do you want to start a course? Write a book, sell templates. There are so many options as to what you can do when it comes to what you're going to sell.

My recommendation here, when it comes to what you're going to sell is keep it simple.

If you're anything like me, when I think about what I'm going to sell, I wanna create the best thing in the world. I want this to be the absolute best product. Everyone is gonna tell their mother, father sister, brother, friends, relatives, everybody. They know they're gonna tell them about this product because it is the absolute best product in the market. And when you're thinking about creating the best product in the market, you can be overwhelmed with the amount of things that you're trying to do. Man, if this is gonna be the best I have to do all these things, I have to do these hundred things in order to make sure this is the best. If that's you just, put a pause on that step on the breaks and take a deep breath when it comes to what you're going to sell online, you want to keep it very simple. Unless you've already actually identified people who are going to buy whatever it is you're going to sell.

You don't yet know anybody's gonna buy that. Instead, do it this way. What type of value can I bring to the market? What type of value is it my expertise? Is it the things I can do for others? Is it the things I can help people with? What is that expertise that I am bringing to the market and where can I provide the most value?

We oftentimes get overwhelmed partially because we're looking to sell instead of create value and value is really what we need to focus on because value gets us to the selling that we want to do.

All right. So ask yourself this question, how can I provide value? And what is the minimum amount of value I can provide that people can still get the outcome that I'm looking to give them, whether it's having a product course book, whatever it is you're trying to do to build that. Ask yourself, what is that value I'm trying to provide?

And what is the minimum amount of value I can give for them to be able to reach those goals. Your goal here is not to provide no value. Your goal here is to start something and launch it. Your goal is to get people, to give you credit card information so that you can make some money and then make this the best product ever. Today, the question is, how can I get people, their goals? How can I provide that value so that my clients, customers get the outcome that I want them to have. So don't be too focused on, you know, creating the best thing ever in the world. It will be the best thing ever in the world. It might not be the best thing ever in the world today.

And that is okay.

All right next, let's talk about how to handle overwhelm when it comes to how you're going to sell it.

Now, there are so many options as to how you can provide that value, right? So we just talked in tip number one about what is the, minimum amount of value that I can do to make sure I'm creating a business, right? The next step. This tip is about how you're actually going to sell it.

So we'll take something like a course, right? Do I actually wanna put it into a course or should I make an ebook or should I make a video series or should I make a podcast series? There are so many options as to how we can do this and how we can provide that value that we're providing. What I recommend is this.

Again, we're gonna use the, keep it simple method. If you like video use video, if you like audio use audio. If you like text use text, don't force yourself to do something different because someone else says, oh, you have to use video to sell more. Oh, you have to use text to sell more. Oh, if you're not making any book, you're not making any money.

Whoa. Let's take a step back. because if you were to take a few minutes and just do a quick search online of people selling things online, you would see that there are plenty of people who were successful doing many different things, right? There is no one road to success, except for through hard work, which we'll talk about later in a different video.

So here, as we're thinking about the best way to. Provide that value, whether it's an ebook video series, course, whatever it happens to be, do what you are most comfortable with. If you're not comfortable on video, don't do video. All right. Keep it simple. Don't force yourself out outside of your comfort zone yet when it comes to creating this information or providing that value, whatever it happens to be.

All right next up, we are going to talk about how to handle opportunity overwhelm when it comes to where you're going to sell, whatever it is that you are selling, that's providing that value. Now, there are again, so many options, right? If you're selling a physical product, Do you set up a Shopify store or should you sell through Etsy or should you sell through Amazon or Walmart or any of the other marketplaces online?

If you're selling an informational product, do you use ClickFunnels or Kajabi or any of the other possible options? When it comes to, selling information online and helping people, reach their goals. So if you're overwhelmed by all of the options, you have a couple of constraints, right?

One is your level of technology expertise, right? How familiar are you with technology? How good are you with technology? The goal here is to get set up fast, right? You wanna be set up tomorrow, today even to be able to provide that value to others so that you can get launch your business, become successful and then worry about, is this the right platform?

Am I using the best tool on the market for me today. Don't focus on that as much as does this tool provide the value that I needed to provide. Can I use it successfully? And is it within my budget? That's all we need to worry about. This is where a lot of people get stuck with shiny object syndrome.

They're like, oh man, I'm on ClickFunnels, but I could be using Kajabi I'm on Kajabi, but I could be using. Insert a tool, right? There's so many tools, so many different options as to how you can market yourself online. So many different options as to where you can put that product that you're selling, that people can get overwhelmed.

Again, keep it simple. Don't think about it a whole bunch set, clear objectives for what you want that tool to do or what you want those tools to be able to do and go from.

And finally, let's talk about. How to handle opportunity overwhelm when it comes to where you're going to market yourself. Now, there are so many options as to where you can market yourself online. You've got Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, I'm sure you can name a whole bunch of different options as to where you can market yourself online.

So how do you choose, how do you choose where to go or do you try to go everywhere? Don't try to go everywhere. Don't. you will hate your life because you're trying to keep up with so many social medias again here. We're gonna keep it simple.

So the first question you have to ask yourself is what type of content am I most comfortable with? Am I most comfortable posting pictures, posting videos, posting text. Take whatever you're most comfortable with, and use that as a baseline for your options to where you're gonna market yourself. If you're most comfortable with text, don't use YouTube.

And that's okay to not use YouTube. Again, you will find successful people using every platform. You've got successful people using Facebook, using Instagram, using TikTok, using YouTube. I'm sure there's out there. Somebody using Reddit successfully. Although I haven't heard of them, but I'm sure there is, because in the end what we're trying to do is we are trying to market ourself, but we're trying to build a community around whatever value it is that we're trying to sell.

Whether it's a product, whether it's an informational course, Ebook, whatever. Our goal is to create that community around that content. And to do that, we provide value wherever it is. You are most comfortable providing value. That's where you wanna be. Don't think about it too much. Don't focus on, this social site has this many users, but this one has this many users, but this one's growing way more, but this one's not growing as much.

Whoa. It is so easy when you looked at it like that to get overwhelmed. Pick what you're most comfortable with pick what you would have the most fun with, right? What you would yourself use the most often to build that community? And start there. Don't try to go everywhere all at once. It's very overwhelming , which is what we're trying to avoid as part of this video.

Yeah.

Pick one site and stick to it. And that is really, your best bet you can, of course, eventually add other sites that you use. But in the beginning, the very beginning, I recommend sticking to one and be prepared to be there for a little while. It's not gonna be tomorrow or the next week that you're going to be able to, you.

Have enough money to hire a marketing team or hire, have enough money to quit your job and launch, go full time in your business. It's gonna be some time. So pick something that you're most comfortable with, that you like, that you can really commit that time to to grow your business.
